Chartres labyrinth illustrationanimated butterfly

One of the most famous labyrinths can be found in Chartres Cathedral in France. During the middle ages, pilgrims walked the labyrinths as part of their spiritual journey. Models based on this 11-circuit labyrinth are rapidly gaining popularity in the United States. Labyrinths are becoming a powerful tool for transformation to many on their spiritual journey.

A butterfly is the essence of transformation... first the egg, then larva, cocoon and finally emerging from the chrysalis as a beautiful butterfly. Prior to beginning your walk, it may be helpful to consider the transformation of the butterfly while focusing on a personal issue. Perhaps ask yourself if the issue is in the egg stage... is it just a thought or an idea? The larva stage... do I need to make a decision? The cocoon stage... am I developing and doing something to make my idea a reality? Or the birth stage... am I sharing my completed idea? Possibly you may take it a step further to the rebirth stage... do I need to let go to make room for another idea? (A portion of the preceding copy: Animal Medicine by Jamie Sams.)

I invite you to play your favorite relaxing music during the walk and open to the healing and peace the labyrinth offers. You can push the Stop button at any time during your walk... and Restart to continue.

Approximate walking time: 20 minutes
