The
human body is comprised of 70% water... the water element is representative
of our emotional bodies... and sometimes, much like the waves of the oceans,
we allow our "waves" of emotions to carry us to undesirable
places, such as ill health. It is widely believed that a lot of human
physical illness is first formed in the emotional body. When our emotions
are out of balance for a period of time, this energy then moves from the
emotional body into the physical body... manifesting as a mild common
cold or a more serious illness. Sometimes these more serious forms of
"dis-ease" take years to manifest in the physical body.
The
Classical labyrinth (sometimes referred to as Cretan) can help us to bring
our emotional and physical bodies into balance. It is used most widely
around the world and has seven "paths" as the human body has
seven major "chakras." Chakra, from the Sanskrit word meaning
"wheel of light," are centers of power and energy in the human
body which channel energy from the cosmos to connect the human energy
field with the greater energy of the Universe.
Below
is a chart indicating the chakra name and color most widely associated
with it, followed by the area of the body it nourishes (also indicated
in illustration to left):

Upper brain, right eye
